課程概述

The 2006 course is my continuous experiment to design and create a course
for electronic classroom in the future. Nevertheless, IDM requires a lot of
visual comprehension, which challenges the instructor to
integrate both digital materials and non-digital
ones. Students taking this course share the
responsibilities to convert the non-digital parts to all
digital style for future course. Of course, people
interactions, such as classroom discussion and
Q&As, are necessary chemical reactions and can never be
replaced by digital media. As a result, participants
are expected to:
1) participate in discussion and to keep up
with the ever changing world in IDM with news update
2) write up 1 company case analyses covered in this course
3) organize a study group to cover several companies in the same level of
industry
4) choose an IDM in-depth topic to address the recent
development in IDM
The number of group and size of group will be
adjusted according to the number of students
enrolled. As a rule of thumb, a group of 2 students
is ideal for such an arrangement and grading
system. Suggestions on how to enhance the assignments are welcome anytime. 

課程目標
1) to familiar the MBA students with the concepts and terminology used in IDM.
2) to construct an awareness of momentum underlying the changing patterns of
IDM.
3) to build up management skills of IDM in various institutions.
4) to develop a global perspective of IDM for future career. 
課程要求
1) This is an elective course for those who are interested to develop
advanced knowledge and perspectives in IDM. Students with basic training
in
a. marketing management or
b. marketing channel or
c. international business are most eligible for this class.
The instructor strongly advises students to have at least 2 courses of
the above in order to get the best out of this IDM course.
2) Teaching pedagogy includes lectures, class discussion, case studies, guest
speech, and site visiting. Certain flexibility is inevitable for the purpose
of each specific session.
